Yellow and How It Affects Your Home

Yellow has long been the color associated with hope. For years, yellow ribbons have been associated with loved ones far away – yellow ribbons hung for soldiers in the hope that they are able to come back home to their families. Yellow roses are given to those who need a little hope in their lives – for instance, those facing long illnesses or those who have loved ones facing long illnesses. Yellow is also associated with the sun – a happy color that can bring a little sunshine into your world. You can also bring a little sunshine and hope into your home by using yellows in your décor.

Yellow is often used in baby nurseries and kitchens, creating calm, serene rooms for the beginning of life or the beginning of your day. Yellow can be used to brighten any room in your home. Whether you choose to use subtle accents of different shades of yellow or whether you choose to be bold and use bright yellow paint on the walls, you can create a sense of calm and relaxation in any room.

Yellow can be used anywhere in your house to brighten dark corners or small rooms that do not benefit from the natural light of the sun. Using yellow accents for your breakfast table helps to start the day in a cheery and relaxed atmosphere that will stay with you throughout the day. Little touches of yellow can work with almost any color scheme in any room. A great idea is to place vases of yellow flowers throughout your home to bring a little touch of nature’s own peaceful color into your home.

In many homes, you may find one room that is small and, either windowless or maybe with one small window. It is very easy for rooms such as this to look small and dark. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. If you have a small room in your home – perhaps a bathroom, small bedroom, or laundry room that doesn’t receive much natural light, the perfect way to recreate this room and make it look larger and brighter is by using yellow. Paint the walls in a bright yellow color – and use white accents throughout the room. This will create a roomy, relaxing atmosphere in a space that beforehand seems dark and gloomy. Just imagine sinking into a warm bathtub for a long, relaxing soak in a room that brings the sunshine from outside right into the very room you are in.

Your choice of color is one of the most important decisions you will make when decorating your home. The color scheme that you use will determine the mood that you want to convey both to your family and to your guests. Yellow is a bright, sunny color that can be used to create a sensation of peace and happiness in any room of your home. If you prefer decorating with darker colors, you can use yellow accents such a pillows, flowers, and candles to add a little touch of sunshine throughout the room. Whether you choose accents in yellow or entire rooms in yellow, you can bring nature’s very own happiness trigger right into your home for your family and friends to enjoy!
