Other people would rather do window cleaning themselves, and they can often pick up some tips from the experts. What many people don’t realise is that a window cleaner’s tool is basically his squeegee, so why can’t you do the same job as the pros?

The initial step for window cleaning solutions is to scout for materials to be used. Some people head to a store and look for the right items to buy, or some can just look round their house and find exactly what they need. Some of the basic things you need are extension poles and a trusty bucket that doesn’t leak!

To start with window cleaning, put a few drops of liquid mixture in a bucket full of warm water. Be careful not to put too many drops in the bucket or you could end up with a streaky window. Stir well until combined and ready to be applied. Get the foam sponge and then put some of the mixture on it in order to rub it on the glass panes. In some cases you might find it appropriate to use a scrubber when you have some stubborn dirt to remove.

If you have some windows up high then you’ll need a telescopic pole to reach them. If you find you have an area that has been filled with cobwebs then the best tip is to spray this with a hose first to get rid of the dirt in the corners. If you don’t have a scrubber to hand, a worn out cloth is often very useful. Using this requires more force and you’re likely to get a better cleaning result after using it.

You want to be able to stand back and admire your handiwork when you’ve finished, so make sure there are no droplets of water left on the window panes. For streaks to be avoided the foam and scrubber should end at the base of the window and you should follow a single direction for uniformity. Also, rather than wipe the wet areas away, letting the water evaporate is a much better solution.
