Who To Choose When Decorating Your Home With Pictures
I have been walking about local galleries recently across North Wiltshire, West Wiltshire, Kennet and South Wiltshire and found that the many art establishments be they in Chippenham Wiltshire or Malmesbury Wiltshire are filled with some fantastic local artists prints and a quantity of fantastic national artists prints. I decided to give a break down of some brilliant artists who’s work is about at the moment that have created pieces that are of benefit having a look at. Art is for all of us and a good print placed in the right space of a room can make all the difference to the atmosphere.
The first artist I wanted to look at is the Scottish artist Jack Vettriano who I feel is producing exceptional pieces of art if you like film noir. For me when I look at his work I get the feeling of looking at a clip from an American detective scene or a scene from Miss Marple. Seems a little blasé perhaps but place with that a real feel of sensuality and strength and you will begin to get a feel of his work. Jack Vettriano’s work can be seen in print all around the planet and adds strong tones to a room when you want to add depth and tension.
The 2nd artist I wanted to discuss away from moody tones to humorous large characters. I feel Beryl Cook was one of Britain’s greatest painters of United Kingdom character scenes. Many people will recognise her characters as big ladies by the seaside, but the range of her work brings so much humour to real scenes of real people having a moment. Look at her work as I know she will make you smile, her work is bright and lifts the mood of a room.
The 3rd person I wanted to look at is Philip Gray the Irish artist who paints gorgeous moody scenes that I feel are so stunning and awe inspiring that you have a real sense how it must have been to be looking onto them yourself. His work is very inspiring using colours that only nature’s beautiful sunsets and dawns can reveal. There is always a sense of dynamic silence about his work and is really of benefit a look if you like dramatic landscapes. Most homes will benefit from pieces of this artists work.
The Fourth Artist I wanted to speak about was Duncan Macgregor who makes scenes that reveal his love of the ocean. Many of his scenes have ships travelling through their canvas which for lovers of the ocean like myself puts in points of attention in very reflective scenes of the ocean. His paintings are often fairly striking using strong colours to reflect the brightness of the ocean.
These are excellent artists to look at to give you a wide range of styles that show the massive effect art can have on you or other people as they go into a room. Art I feel should be a thing that helps you to dream about something else beyond your day to day. It can really help a room with bare walls, adding just the feel you want to reflect an aspect of self.
