Similarities And Differences Between Mobile And Modular Properties

With the economy in turmoil many individuals have found they are forced to live off of a tighter budget. For people looking to build a house it can seem impossible to achieve this goal, but many people are learning there are many benefits to building Prefabricated houses, or modular homes, instead of custom houses. While many individuals have a bad opinion of these prefabricated homes it is often because they get them confused with mobile homes. There are many differences between a Mobile home manufacturer and a modular home company.

There are many similarities between mobile homes and modular homes, one being that they are both built in a factory. After being constructed these pre-made components are sent to the property by truck and assembled upon arrival. However while in this aspect the two houses are similar this is typically where the similarities end.

The difference between these two houses is how it is built which starts in the factory. While a mobile home is made usually from start to finish in the factory, a modular home is not. Instead the factory works to create all the components needed to construct the home and these pieces are then sent to the construction site to be put together creating the finished home. The onsite construction is similar to the process used to construct any custom home on the market. One of the main differences between a mobile home and a modular house is that a mobile home is permanently mobile; it can be moved from one place to another with ease. A modular home on the other hand is only mobile before construction; once it shows up on the site and is set up the home becomes permanent. Once built a modular home is built there is minimal difference between it and any other constructed home.

Another big difference between a mobile and modular home is the way that they are constructed after they arrive at the build site. They both arrive at the site on the back of a truck but their construction is incredibly different. If it is a single wide mobile home it shows up in one piece and only needs to be immobilized on the foundation, a double wide mobile home usually comes in two pieces and simply needs to be put together and then immobilized. With a modular home however, the house itself comes in parts that must then be constructed in a way similar to the construction of a traditional home.

You don’t have to look at a modular home as second best anymore and there isn’t any reason that a small budget means you can’t build your dream home, a modular home is a great way for you and your loved ones to construct the house of your dreams on a budget. These homes are an economical way to have a home built in just a few weeks; best of all the quality and style of your new home will be just as high as any traditional custom home for a part of the cost.
