Several Household Materials that Must Be Recycled
This world is becoming a land of contradiction. Where there is a constantrise in industrialization and production, there is a exclating number of people waving the green flag for industries to follow environment friendly steps and actions. This revolution to save the planet has now taken a worldwide status. Not only individuals, but also corporations are now working toward a greener way of life. modular homes manufacturers are now giving a complete solution for eco-friendly living. Yet, the effort of some modular home manufacturers or a few considerate individuals is not enough to heal the planet from the huge injury that has been done over the years. Environment saving agencies and organization urge people to reduce, reuse and recycle to help this cause.
Recycling is one the main component in this cause. It is about reprocessing the used materials in again usablematerials. Recyclinglessens the amount of useful material going into waste. It also lessens energy consumption, consumption of raw and fresh resources, and lessens the environmental contaminationcaused by landfills.
Today, in countries like the US and UK, governments and other agencies are working together to encouragerecycling among the public. Many agencies pay a small amount of money in return for recyclable products. However, there are a few things which are more recyclable than others because of their productivity and usage. Let us take a look at such products.
Paper/Packaging
According to a study, paper makes up for more than 40% of the average household waste and a much of it is paper which comes from newspapers, magazines and packaging. Recycling paper uses 70% less energy than used in manufacturing virgin product.
Aluminum
Following the increasing consumption of canned products, it is apparent that aluminum makes up for a big part of domestic waste. Recycling aluminum cans also be very energy efficient as it requires only five percent of the energy consumed in a single mining process. Also, the greenhouse gases emission is greatly reduced.
Glass
Glass products are typically easy to recycle and people preferfavor to utilize them for any other purpose rather than throwing them or recycling them. However, glass recycling is very energy efficient and eco- friendly. It is said that glass is a 100% recyclable material and can be reused infinitely. Usually, proper recycling requires separating brown, green and clear glass.
Plastic
As much as this material is used in everyday life, it is harder to recycle and has severalatmospheric issues. According to an environmental researchorganization, only ten percent of the total plastic used is recyclable. However, it requires plastic requiresfewer resources in manufacturing and emits lesser anti-ozone fumes. The recycled stuff is typically of low and weaker quality and it is only recyclable once.
Batteries
The lead-acid batteries were always considered as a non-reusable item. For this reason, they spent a lot of time taking up room in the landfills. However, The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation is of the view that all the things that are rechargeable is recyclable. Not all the batteries but almost 90% are recyclable.
