Wasserbetten are used for having a sound kip at night. It consists of a water filled mattresses. The mattress is enclosed in a framework which is generally made of wood. This framework generally rests on a plywood deck which sits on a platform. There are waterbeds which have drawers for storage. Newer waterbeds come up with decorative parts with tall posts and headboards. There are different types of waterbeds which differ essentially in the appearance only. They are usually made in the same mode of manufacturing. There are normally two types of waterbeds. The hard sided water bed is the one with rectangular framework of wood. But for a soft sided water bed, the rectangular frame is sturdy and is inside a fabric casing.
The manufacturing of Wasserbett starts with a sheet of standard size placed in the bottom across the bed. This sheet is supposed to over hang the sides of the waterbed. A rod is placed over the sheet at either edge of the bed. This is pressed between the bed and the mattress and drawn in downward direction between the frame and the mattress. The rod is supposed to have a length of around six feet and must be lesser in length as compared to that of the sheet. The rod has to be pulled downwards towards the frame of the water bed. The pressure on the sides of the mattress then helps the mattress to overlie the sheet edge and the pole. This is done in the positive manner and will hold the sheet in place.
Now a second rod is taken and it is placed at the other edge of the bed opposite to that of the first rod. This is then pressed between the frame of the water bed and the mattress and is used to draw the bottom sheet in between the mattress and the frame in a downward direction. This is also done in the similar manner as the first rod, downwards along the sides of the mattress to the bottom of the frame of the water bed. Thus this rod will hold the sheet edge in place by overlying the sheet edge and the pole. Thus the rods in both edges are supposed to hold the edges of the water bed by offering support to the sheet edge. You can also use a rod to hold the top and the bottom of the water bed at the edges of the sheets. For this you can place the rod at the head and foot parts of the water bed.
Water beds can be rested on a platform. This gives them the look of a traditional or conventional waterbed. They can thus have a proper fit into the bed room furniture. The platform has the look of a foundation or a spring box. This will be usually stronger than an ordinary metal frame.
Water beds can be made by having only one chamber for holding water. They are known as “free flow” mattresses. The latest technique of water bed manufacturing uses wave-reducing methods. They use fiber batting and water chambers that are interconnected. Another category can be made by having separate chambers for water and air. They can be also interconnected. These water beds are heated at a temperature of around 30 degree Celsius. The main material used for the construction of water beds is vinyl. Hence when repairing is needed, vinyl repair kits can be used of any kind.
The special manufacturing techniques used for making waterbeds are the main reasons why they are offering comfort to the user. They can balance pressure offering comfort and can give warmth required to wipe away serious health problems. Hence water beds are used largely by people to get a sound sleep at night.
