Believe it or not, with our highly technological world, it is surprising how our children love much to play with the same toys we played as children. These toys, which are less demanding and not always as easy to find these days, are simple and have a charm unlike the computerized, touch-screen models most toy stores have.

For your child to have their own toys or vehicle or at least play with them one boring afternoon, your child can make chess board in a pizza box. Here's a good idea to start:

1. Take a box of flip-top and paint it with white color.

2. Paint the box with liquid brown shoe polish, creating a false appearance of wood.

3. Stick squares templates in your box. Make sure it as the correct size to fit the top of the box.

4. Paint black and white squares like checkerboard.

5. Spray the box with high gloss sealer and let dry.
